U5/6 Program (2020 & 2019 birth years)

At this level of play, players meet one time a week with the emphasis on the development of core skills in a fun, engaging way.  For this age group, our coaches lead drills that target the improvement of large and fine motor skills, balance, and eye-hand coordination. Activities and games are designed to keep kids in constant motion by giving them opportunities to use specific skills in fun exercises and activities. While practice plans vary week to week, basic skills are repeated so players learn the fundamental skills of soccer. The season includes 6-8 weeks in the Fall and the Spring. The registration fee covers one day a week training, t-shirt, and soccer ball. Players will need shin guards and soccer cleats.

U7/8 Program (2018 & 2017 birth years)

At this level, co-ed teams are formed and practice 1 day a week with 1 game a week (local games with other ESC In-house teams)  with the focus on strengthening the basics while teaching more advanced skills appropriate for this age group. Our coaches lead activities designed to develop your child’s individual skills while building a greater appreciation for playing as part of a team. Since repetition builds familiarity and confidence, drills are repeated from week to week while gradually layering in more advanced skills instruction. While practice time activities are geared towards strengthening your child’s individual skills, game time emphasizes each player’s understanding of the structure of the sport, game rules, and how to compete as a team. The co-ed teams are formed with the goal of providing all players equal opportunities to play all positions. The teams play for 6-8 weeks in both Fall and Spring. The registration fee covers training, team shirts and games in a playing year.  All games take place in Evansville. Players will need shin guards and soccer cleats.
